On 3 August, Sarah Henderson, member for Corangamite, announced that we have been successful with our Stronger regions application for $314,000 for our Diversability centre at Diversitat’s Northern Community Hub.
In addition to this funding announcement, Give Where You Live have also committed $75,000 to the Diversability centre. Further to this, we are in discussions with other philanthropic organisations to support our capital works.
The Centre’s activities will be to provide National Disability Insurance Scheme support services to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people with a disability and for their families and carers. Services such as case management; home and respite care support; culturally accessible information in a range of translated formats and interpretation services to assist CALD people to link with NDIS; aid them to successfully navigate the disability system; and be an advocate for their needs.
Our Northern Hub is building on its reputation Australia wide as a unique model for the delivery of a multiplicity of services and programs at one location, and this new addition of services will enable us to build on this reputation.
