Diversitat, also known as the Geelong Ethnic Communities Council, commenced operations in Geelong in 1976.

With a proud history in providing migrant services, our mission is to provide an innovative and high quality response to the changing needs of a culturally diverse community.

From humble beginnings as one office, Diversitat now operates from ten locations in the Barwon Region and offers a range of settlement services for new migrants, community programs, aged support services for older people from CALD backgrounds, services for young people, training and education, arts and events including Pako Festa, and a number of enterprises which you can visit and support.

Settlement Services

Diversitat is the regional settlement services provider in the region, settling 200-300 people per year.

Community Services

Services for new migrants in Geelong and Colac, including 1600 refugees within the region.

Youth Services

VCAL Programs, youth mentoring, homework clubs, and training and education.

Disability Services

Diversability is Diversitat’s disability service and a registered NDIS provider, providing support for people with a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background.

Aged Support

Promoting independence, support and social opportunities for older people from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background.

Training and Education

Learn English, and access accredited and pre-accredited training.

Enterprises

Support Diversitat by shopping at any of our social enterprises including Geelong Wholefoods Pantry + Kitchen, the Belmont Oppe Shoppe, the Pulse Radio and Television, and the Stitch Sewing Program, which produces hand-made garments.

Arts & Events

Strengthening linkages between diverse communities through arts and events, such as Pako Festa, Refugee Week, Geelong After Dark, and so much more.
