Diverse Needs
The Australian Government recognises that there are a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences across our community.
Many programs and services are available to support people of all backgrounds to access the help they need. If you’re an older person, or you care for an older person, you may have certain needs specific to your background.
The Australian Government provides aged care services for all members of the community and depending on your circumstances, there may be services that cater specially for you.
There are programs and information for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds, people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex, or Care-Leavers, to help make living and caring easier.
Tailored support is also offered to older veterans, older people who are financially disadvantaged, people living with a disability and those living away from large towns.
