Planned Activity And Social Support Groups
Diversitat Aged Support provides social support programs designed to promote our clients independence to remain in their home for as long as possible.
Our programs primarily target clients of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) in the Geelong and Bellarine area.
Seniors will enjoy a day out and carers can relax knowing their loved one is well cared for.
Day programs at our centre include activities, day trips, arts and craft, social engagement, support for carers, information and referral and promoting emotional intelligence.

Community meals
We are sure there is something here that is right for you. But if not, let us know your preferences and likes/dislikes and we can design a fun day of activities for you.
We know carers need time to do things for themselves, and older people need time and something special for themselves too! Allow us to care for your partner or parent so you can take a much needed break.
Come and join in the fun, support and entertainment provided by our great staff and special guests. Please call us on (03) 5222 7275 if you have any queries.
Each year we celebrate with an annual dinner, suitable titled ‘A Year to Remember’. It is an opportunity for our clients and their loved ones, dignitaries, friends and staff to come together over a meal, to dance, and to pay respect to those we have lost with the lighting of a remembrance candle. Watch our video for an insight into the evening.
ROAM – (Retired on a Mission)
Friday bus trips around Geelong and district.
The group decides destinations and lunch choices, taking in turns the individual preferences and desires of the participants.
Highly sought after experience with endless options to explore individual goals, interests and our regions highlights.
Places on the bus/program are limited.
Go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Try something different !

Café Style Support

Café Style Support is a social support and information based group program. It is funded by the Federal Government Department of Health. This service comes at no cost to the participant. Café Style Support is for older people, and the people that help them to remain living at home independently for as long as possible – carers could be a husband or wife, daughter or son, friend or neighbour. Diversitat runs it for people from CALD – Culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds or migrants.
The program consists of 6 sessions. Each session, you will have a delicious meal at a local café/restaurant, and a guest speaker will tell you about a service that could benefit you and your loved one. We meet every 2, 3 or 4 weeks, depending on what suits the entire group as a whole; and a large bus will be organised by us to provide transport.
Café Style Support provides an opportunity for social connection, mutual peer support and encouragement and access to important information about resources for older people who need help to live well at home.
Experts explain the ongoing changes in Aged Care including;
- My Aged Care (national portal everyone must use to receive services)
- The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
- Centrelink Payments for carers and older people
- The health and wellbeing benefits of Social Support Groups (for carers and their loved one)
- Barwon Regional Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) for funded Packages of care
- Regional Assessment Service for CHSP clients to remain at home with paid care
- Respite Care – staying for short periods in a nursing home or paid care in the home
- Diversitat Access and Support Worker role – Individual help for carers and clients
There are many other topics that we can provide information on, so you can always make a suggestion on the information topic you might like to hear about.

If you receive an Aged Care package or are an NDIA participant you will have to pay more for your services. You must let us know at the time of service agreement what funds or packages you currently receive.
At the end of June 2019 fees will change again subject to the transition of the national Aged Care reforms known as Consumer Directed Care.
