Job Options for Asylum Seekers is an initiative of Diversitat, and is funded by the William Buckland Foundation. The purpose of the program is to assist asylum seekers living in Greater Geelong and Colac into work, support employers to grow and diversify their workforce, and foster social benefit and inclusion in workplace communities.
The Job Options Program has a unique approach to employment, spending time with potential employees, and also employers to learn about their business and to understand the requirements of their particular workplaces.
We recognise that employers want candidates to have certain skills for a job, and who are genuinely motivated to work. As part of the Program, we work with employers to provide recruitment and work placement opportunities.
What we offer
- Work-ready candidates, each with a bank account, tax file number and work visa
- Trained candidates who have the appropriate skill level and type of skills
- Assistance to help employers meet their corporate social responsibility requirements
- More diversity in workplaces, leading to improved staff engagement and retention
Note, we are not a Job Services Australia provider – all of our candidates choose to work and register with us.
