Adult Migration English Program (AMEP)

Adult Migration English ProgramThis program, funded by the Commonwealth provides initial English language training to newly arrived migrants.
AMEP is an English language program for eligible migrants. The course provides for up to 510 hours of ESL training free of charge and participants work towards achieving the Certificate of Written and Spoken English (CWSE).
In some cases, subject to assessment, participants can receive an additional 400 hours of ESL training as preparation to undertake the CWSE.

Volunteer Tutor Program

Available under AMEP for eligible migrants. The course provides up to 510 hours of ESL training free of charge, the training is delivered on a one to one basis in the students home, participants work towards achieving CWSE. Currently Diversitat has 90 tutors delivering this program.

Distance Learning

Available to eligible migrants under AMEP, students receive an AMES workbook and are required to post their work back to a trainer, who then assess the work, participants work towards achieving the CWSE.

English as a Second Language

Diversitat also delivers this course but students need to pay a minimal amount to participate as they do not fall under the AMEP criteria.
