Complex Case Support (CCS) is an initiative of the Department of Social Services, which recognises that some recently arrived Humanitarian Refugees may experience specific short term difficulties that place themselves and their families at a disadvantage.
The purpose of CCS is to provide short term targeted intervention to allow the family to return to normal functioning as soon as possible.
Eligibility
An applicant who holds one of the following visa types is eligible for CCS:
- Refugee
- Special Humanitarian Program
- Permanent protection
- All temporary protection
A person is eligible for services up to five years after their arrival in Australia. Flexibility may be shown to this timeframe and other visa subclasses in exceptional circumstances.
These circumstances can include Homelessness, Family Violence, Disability, Mental Health and other health needs.
Any individual or agency can refer someone to CCS. To make a referral, visit the Department of Social Services website for the complex case support program.
