This qualification focuses on the skills needed to become a professional audio engineer including understanding of the structure & the pathways to employment in the audio industry, audio, acoustic & production theory, practical recording techniques including popular music, broadcast, traditional instruments & foley soundtracks for film. The 1st live component of this course includes a series of small & medium size live shows that will also be broadcast live to air as well as simultaneous recording with the learning focus on basic live front of house & monitor engineering. The 2nd live component of this course involves students planning & executing a large multi stage event with the learning focus on complex live front of house & monitor engineering. The studio complex includes a large live recording space, a dead room & a fully functioning control room equipped with some of the most pristine recording equipment available including a Pro Tools HD system, 96 channel control surface, high end studio monitors & a range of outboard equipment including valve compressors & equalisers, class A mic preamps & digital effects units. Trained by an audio engineer with over 30 years experience in all facets of live & recorded audio production.
