On Friday 8th July the Geelong Cats vs Sydney Swans game hosted the AFL Multicultural Round at Geelong’s Skilled Stadium.
Heavy rain for days prior the event meant that many of the food stalls, activities and stage shows of Geelong’s cultural groups had to be adapted. The Croatian Food Stall was set up just outside the southern Moorabool Street gate with the Henna art, African Drummers and Hoop Fusion all participating within the stadium.
A lap of honor for 40 of Geelong’s ethnic community representatives was conducted with some wearing their beautiful traditional costumes.
Many of Geelong’s newest community members also attended their first ever AFL game which was a thrill in the cold. Let’s forget that the Cats lost!
Thank you to Geelong Cats making this a memorable day for many of our clients and celebrating what a proud multicultural city Geelong is.
Thank you to An Heremans and the Geelong Camera Hire for the wonderful photos.
