Children’s book launch, ‘Grandma Sings to the Moon’

Colac Homework Club participants proudly launched their children’s book, “Grandma Sings To The Moon”, at an event at the Colac Neighbourhood House recently.

Parents of children in the Homework Club go and related some stories from their community before coming to Australia.

This engaging and informative story is from Homework Club participant Bibyan, about her grandma who is still in South Sudan and her memories of her childhood.  This reflection was captured with pictures from the children in the homework club, and beautifully complied by Brittany, Homework Club Co-ordinator, for the young Sudanese in our community and also everyone else to discover.

Copies of the book were presented to Colac and Community Learning Centre, Colac Neighbourhood House, Diversitat, and families of the students involved.  Primary Schools and Early Learning Centres in Colac will also be presented with a copy.

Books are available for $20 each from Diversitat Geelong West Office or call 5221 6044 for your nearest outlet.

All proceeds will support Settlement Services and Programs.
