The Community Development Team held a range of youth activities over the school holidays. These included an activity day hosted by St Joseph’s College, horse riding, trips to Dandenong and the Melbourne Arts Centre, an African drumming workshop and the Ride Out program at Barwon River.
Eighty young people attended the St Joseph’s Activity Day on 4 July. Teachers and student volunteers from St Joseph’s, Clonard and Sacred Heart Colleges provided a range of fantastic activities including crafts, sports, cooking, dance and a treasure hunt. The group shared a lovely lunch and the participants had a great time getting to know their older buddies.
Ten young men participated in the Ride Out program bike ride at the Barwon River on 14 July. After a long and enjoyable bike ride we shared a BBQ lunch and then a basketball game with some local young people we met in the park. It was great to see the young men enjoying the ride and making connections in the wider community.
