On Wednesday 13th December, Diversitat Aged Support celebrated Christmas in their brand new Healthy Living Centre. All of their clients and friends were invited, and what a turn out it was!
The heat certainly didn’t deter many, with the new building alive and jumping with approximately 120 guests, plus staff. Ben Costanzo entertained the masses in the earlier part of the day, playing an array of Christmas carols and old classics. Clients, guests and staff danced and sang along to each song. Santa and his friend ‘Alf’ arrived to wish everyone a merry Christmas, and handed out chocolate Santa’s, sprigs of rosemary, and hugs – plenty of hugs. There were also photo opportunities with Santa, he was kept very busy for an hour or two.
Lunch was served: roast meats, vegetables and salads. Along with pavlova and berries for dessert. During lunch, Katey Cooper (a musician from Torquay), played a set of laid back folk inspired Christmas carols and modern classics. Santa and ‘Alf’ continued to spread the Christmas cheer, the clients simply adored them!
It was lovely seeing so many of the clients all enjoying the new space together. It was the first time they have had that many people using the new Healthy Living Centre, all at the one time. And the building truly held up to all expectations; providing enough space for 120 people to sit comfortably to a sit down meal, and kept everyone c ool – considering it was a total scorcher outside.
All staff at Diversitat Aged Support would like to thank everyone that came along to help celebrate. And a special thank you to Camille and Julie who cooked for everyone! Great job.
We would also like to wish everyone a wonderful year in 2018, one that’s full of love and laughter.
