Diversitat Aged Support’s Healthy Living Centre – WINS ‘Best Aged Care Facility’ at the Australian Healthcare Week Awards 2019

Diversitat Aged Support’s Healthy Living Centre, was named the ‘Best Aged Care Facility’ in Australia at the 2019 Australian Healthcare Week Excellence Awards and Dinner, held at Darling Harbour, Sydney, on Wednesday 27th March. The awards and gala recognise the facilities, teams and individuals who are making the greatest contributions to our healthcare community. All applications were judged by leading practitioners who have been selected for their excellence across multiple industries and are exemplar members of the service delivery community. And we won the BEST AGED CARE FACILITY category, after being shortlisted to one of five – which was exciting enough, and already considered a win amongst the HLC Team!

“The application was all about diversity and embracing difference, and we do that really well. We are all about providing a really safe, inclusive environment for people to be themselves” explains Robyn Martinez – General Manager Diversitat Aged Support. “It’s really exciting for the ethnic community to be recognised. Being shortlisted was already a win, but to be the overall winner of the Best Aged Care Facility, in Australia, is just extraordinary. The others shortlisted were very large compared to Diversitat.”

The Healthy Living Centre is a purposed designed and built day centre that hosts a range of social, cultural and physical activities, along with health and service information for Geelong’s older migrants. The centre would not be made possible without the help and hard work of Bridgette (Diversitat Project Manager), Christina @ Nook Architecture, and Jeff @ Rendine Construction. We cannot thank them enough.

“The award is a massive win for Diversitat and Geelong more broadly. It is a big vote of confidence for all our sponsors and supporters; particularly Give Where You Live and Geelong Community Foundation and many more. A big thank you to all our HLC Team, volunteers and our wonderful clients. And thanks to Stronger Regions Funding, and thanks to the Victorian Multicultural Commission.” – Michael Martinez, CEO Diversitat.

A final note from Diversitat Aged Support’s G.M, Robyn Martinez: “Congratulations Team Aged Support! Each and every one of you bring something amazing and unique to work every time you come in here. Yourselves – thanks for sharing your talents with our clients. And that’s why we are – The Best Aged Care Facility in Australia.
