We invite you to come along to our monthly Meals Program at Diversitat Aged Support.
This is a $10 two course meal (main & dessert) with a drink (soft drink or coffee). It is a wonderful day on our monthly calendar that occurs on the 2nd Friday of each month* at our community centre, located at 9-15 Clarence St Geelong West. It is a day that we celebrate the taste of diversity, sharing a scrumptious meal with clients, friends and staff of Diversitat. The dollar amount covers the cost of the ingredients, decorations, music etc.
Many cultural communities are involved in this program, volunteering their time and demonstrating their traditional food, by preparing a two course meal at our centre for our guests, staff and clients. Everyone abuzz in fabulous conversation, eating delicious traditional food from a culture that may not be their own.
So far in 2017, February saw the Serbian Community come in and prepare 80 Serbian Cabbage Rolls (Sarma), and traditional Sopska Salata (tomato & fetta salad) with crusty bread. This scrumptious meal was finished off with Baklava and vanilla ice-cream. The second meal (March 10th) was a Cypriot Spit of marinated chicken and lamb, with fresh salads, followed by Bouyatsa served with ice-cream for dessert. A massive thank you to Gina and Lily from the Serbian community, and Chris & Lucy for their Cypriot meal. Both were exquisite! Yummo!
