Students and tutors welcome the return of face to face homework club sessions

Diversitat’s Homework Club is back in action at the Corio Library, located in Moa street next to Waterworld Leisure Centre.

This term the club welcomed back some of their regular students who had attended the sessions in 2019 before the pandemic put a pause to face to face homework assistance.

“We’ve seen students from a variety of schools and cultures getting assistance from our dedicated group of experienced volunteer tutors. Our volunteer tutors have knowledge in a variety of subjects and are passionate about supporting students with their studies, homework and reading.” Diversitat Education Support Worker, Fiona Anderson said.

The homework club caters to students at all levels free of charge, from primary to secondary. They currently have a number of year 11 and 12 students seeking assistance with VCE subjects. Everyone is welcome.

The initiative supports local students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and runs every Monday during the school term from 4pm – 5.30pm at the Corio Library.

“My son’s English pronunciation has improved greatly since he’s been coming to homework club and getting help with reading.” Mum of a current Homework Club participant.
