Happy International Women’s Day!
This week, Diversitat’s Safer and Stronger Communities project held a morning tea with all staff and students to celebrate #IWD2020.
A short video was screened featuring Diversitat staff, members of the Safer and Stronger community working group, City of Greater Geelong Parenting Service staff and Victoria Police speaking in 16 different languages about this year’s IWD theme “Let’s all be each for equal”.
What is International Women’s Day?
Throughout ancient and modern history, women have collaborated and lead purposeful action to redress inequality in the hope of a better future for their communities, children and themselves.
While International Women’s Day means different things to different people, the focus around the world is about equality and celebration. On the 8th March rich and diverse local activities connect women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities, local women’s craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and much more.
