The Multicultural Mental Health & Well Being Program provides information and support for individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, on mental health and wellbeing issues through the provision of information, including:
- Culture as a protective factor for mental wellbeing
- Identification of early signs and symptoms of mental health problems and how families and communities can offer support
- How to access Mental Health support and treatment services
- Mental Health First Aid Course
- Promotion of Mental Wellbeing
The program also works with the Mental Health service system, including support services for young people, to advocate for CALD responsive services.
This is achieved by offering Mental Health workforce and organisations the following:
- Secondary consultations regarding culture
- Training in cultural responsiveness for Mental Health workers
- Project partnerships with providers
