Reconnect provides participants with one-on-one mentoring to help them find a job, or a course, that suits their strengths, interests and career aspirations. Mentors also work side-by-side with participants to address any other unmet needs such as housing, mental health, budgeting, or getting a license.
What Reconnect provides participants:
- Weekly to fortnightly mentoring, including outreach
- Assistance to get a job – that you want to do
- Assistance to enrol and complete training
- Motivation, confidence and self-esteem building
- Outreach support to access other services
- Up to 18 months support
Eligibility
17 to 19 years old
- Not engaged in education for six months or more; and
An Aus or NZ citizen; or a holder of a permanent visa
Or
Young people impacted by the Justice System
- 17 – 24 years old; and
- Currently on, or who have been on, Youth Justice Orders
Or
20-64 years old
- Unemployed for six months or more (less than 8 hrs p.wk); and
- Not engaged in education for six months or more; and
- An Aus or NZ citizen; or a holder of a permanent visa
Or
Asylum Seekers
- Bridging Visa Class E (BVE); or
- Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV); or
- Temporary Protection Visa (TPV)
