Improving mental health and well-being in our communities

A group of young people from The Congo, Afghanistan, Iran and Burma (Karen/ Karenni) have a positive story to tell.

They have  completed an 8 month program, Renew Project, to improve the mental health & well-being of immigrant & refugee background communities.

Every fortnight on a Thursday evening the group met to increase their knowledge particularly around the impact of stigma in mental health and to build their own personal skills and understanding as Ambassadors for Mental Health & Well-being in new arrival communities

Diversitat partnered with a group from Headspace Geelong  the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

This fantastic initiative was funded by the State Government’s DHHS.

Congratulations to all the participants !!
