94.7 Pulse Radio Rescue

The Pulse was recently sued by a local high profile personality for comments made on air by a former program host in July 2017. Due to growing legal fees, the station’s future looks grim and is now calling for support from community members, organisations and businesses to rally behind them and raise funds to prevent closing its doors for good.

Station Manager, Leo Renkin, said the funds raised could mean the difference between The Pulse’s survival, and having to close the station down for good. “The support of the Geelong community means everything to us at 94.7 The Pulse. We wouldn’t survive without our volunteers, sponsors and listeners, so we’re calling on them to continue their incredible support at this fundraising event and help us keep operating through what are very difficult and challenging times for the station.”

In addition to our GoFundMe campaign, 94.7 The Pulse will be holding a ‘Radio Rescue’ fundraiser on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 in an effort to gather financial support to keep its doors open while it battles an ongoing court case.

The fundraiser will take place at the former Geelong Wholefoods building on Mercer Street in the Geelong CBD and will feature performances from local musicians and bands, as well as beverages from local vineyards and breweries, and light catering. It will also hold a raffle for a series of prizes donated by local station business sponsors.

The event is open to all media and members of the public for attendance at an affordable $10 door charge. The Pulse looks forward to the support of businesses and community members.
