Another outstanding year for Diversitat Training’s School-based programs.

We are proud to announce another successful year with our School-based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SbAT) and Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program at Diversitat Training with the best results yet.
This year we ran SbAT and VETiS programs in:
• Early Childhood Education and Care
• Horticulture
• Hospitality
• Screen and Media
• Community Services
• Teachers of the Future (Pathway to Primary Teaching Program)
• Emerging Community Leaders Scholarship Program
We had 99 SbATs from over 42 school across Geelong, Colac, Werribee and Manor Lakes. Our VETiS partners of Covenant College, Western Heights and Grovedale had over 70 VETiS students.
Our overall completion rate for students finishing their studies with a qualification is currently 95%, up 4% from last year and 15% up from the region average of 78%
Our Early Childhood Education and Care program as a whole had a 93% completion rate with 7 students being offered casual or part time work in 2018 and 4 Horticulture students offered apprenticeships with an overall completion rate of 94%.
For the first time this year we ran Hospitality SBATS and we had a 98% completion rate in this class and 1 student has secured an apprenticeship and 8 students are going into patisserie in 2018.
Our screen and media students have been recognised for their contribution to the Geelong Community Foundation Philanthropy Project creating the introduction shorts for the candidates and they are being recognised for their achievements next Friday night at the opening night. 1 of our screen and media students has secured a prestigious scholarship to a creative arts college in Melbourne.
Our Australian Catholic University (ACU) pathway into Bachelor of Primary Education program is continuing into 2018 and we will have 4 graduates who have an alternative entry pathway directly into ACU for their Education program in 2019. This program is the first program of its kind and we are looking at building further pathway programs with other tertiary providers.
We are proud of the effort of our students who will be recognised at our upcoming graduation ceremony Tuesday evening 5th December. And we offer a special thanks to the trainers, support staff, businesses, schools and our own Geelong Wholefoods and 94.7 The Pulse for their ongoing support for our School-based programs which allow students to get hands on experience and training while still at school.
We are looking forward to 2018 with full programs in Screen and Media, Horticulture, Hospitality, Children Services and Community Services.
