1.3 KG Tomato at This Year’s Tomato & Chilli Competition!
Geelong’s greenest thumbs brought their most prized home-grown produce to Diversitat’s annual tomato and chilli competition today.
The day was hot, and the competition fierce, but none other could match Paula and Leo Brenistas entry for biggest tomato – securing the title at a whooping 1.3 kg.
The longest chilli came in at an incredible 35cm thanks to the expert hands of Cane Stojanovski.
About the Great Diversitat Tomato & Chilli Competition:
Every year Diversitat Aged Support hosts the Great Diversitat Tomato & Chilli Competition where our clients, volunteers, staff, and the Geelong community are encouraged to grow their own chillies and tomatoes which they can then enter into the competition for a chance to win some fab prizes, and most importantly, have their home-grown veggie recognised as ‘The Best’ in a category!
Events such as these, together with the social support programs offered by Diversitat Aged Support, all work toward increasing our client’s physical and mental wellbeing and promoting their independence to remain in their home for as long as possible.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors for providing our winners with their fabulous prizes:
